What a disgrace and an insult to the 365K+ fans that had watched the MCG test over 5 days with India scoring at less than 2 an over.
Blocking incessantly without any intention of scoring runs against one's natural game, never works unless you are Gavaskar/Pujara. It is just a matter of time before the batter succumbs to the temptation like Pant did and it's all over after that.

Not sure how Rohit has even the gall to come to the press conference. Under normal circumstances, a captain losing 5 out of his last 6 tests with a personal batting average of under 10 would be long gone.

The only saving grace is that WTC final might be more competitive this time. It was one-sided with India both times since the final happens in the early part of English summer and Indian batters can't handle the excessive swing at that time.

Another dismal day for India - not sure why I keep watching it, maybe because of the convenient timings.

Good that finally Rohit was dropped. How about the Kohli? His struggles have been for much longer in test cricket for close to 5 years. I think he has a better chance to succeed in Bollywood with his physique and most importantly nepotism. Anushka can cast him as Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his debut movie!

What's up with the defensive coaching of Gambhir? Pant is a flamboyant attacking batter and there is no point in curtailing his natural instincts. It was sad to see him to get hurt all over his body instead of trying to dominate.

What kind of pitches are they making in Aus now. Innings are getting wrapped up quickly. India was criticised badly for spin friendly pitch but no comments here. It's ridiculous.

Finally, Pant was given the license to play his natural game, and he responded with a 29-ball fifty. Now we have a slim chance to square the series especially if Bumrah is fit to bowl.

Enthralling day of play awaits us.

For longest I have questioned the need of 3 mediocre all rounders. Jadeja, sundar, reddy are neither specialist bowler not batsman. All rounder used to be a full time specialist bowler who could bat well. They used to keep one of them in the team as they are hard to come by. Wicketkeeper batsman used to be a bonus but now pant is relied in top 5. So we are left with top 4 specialist batsman and 3 bowlers. Obviously batsman are not doing well for long time. But only Bumrah comes to mind who has performed well as a bowler consistently over time. These 3 all rounders are neither batsman nor bowlers. Their performance in both batting or bowling is more of a by-chance performance rather than something that you can rely on. I am surprised Sundar is being pitched as replacement for Ashwin. Where is Shami, Chahal, Kuldeep, Hardik? Werent they like top bowlers.

On top all these players are more interested in their insta followers and advertising deals than they are in cricket. Gill, Kohli, Rahul are at the top.

To me it looks like India is progressing because SENA teams are not bringing out good cricketers like they used to. Pakistan has completely faltered as a team. Sri lanka has completely disappeared. And that is why mediocre team like India has shown decent performance for last so many years and all the faults remain hidden. It looks like T20 format has anyway taken over all the styles of batting and bowling. Maybe it's time for India to quit it all and focus on IPL full time.

India lost most of its test matches recently. It's high time India starts boycotting test cricket and extend IPL to 162 games for each team every year like MLB baseball does in the US.

Kohli can become King and NoHit can become Hitman again by scoring 10,000 runs every year :)

Moreover, if there is a rule put in place to have only Indian captains for all the IPL teams, an Indian would always be lifting the trophy.
