I think Apple matches donations up to $10K in a calendar year - all this "golmaal" for $10K which must be chump change for Apple techies! Not sure if these folks got a cut from the charities on Apple's matching grant as well. Disgusting!

it's all the same investigation. Newspaper incorrectly said all 185 are Telugu. Some are Indians. There are other nationalities and charities involved. These 6 you posted are arrested while others are fired.JINSAKAI wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 6:37 pm

I am really surprised that the paper trail was such that these people were caught by simple investigation. Must be really childish players. Corruption in America is rampant especially when working with non profits. Just pull up any of the statements of many of the non profits and you will see people paid insane amount of money for couple of hours in a year. That's kickback. Private players give money to non-profit in lieu of getting a contract, non-profit gives that money to the individual giving contract. It's all legal. Same is the case of people working in govt and awarding contracts to private players to receive kickbacks. There was a tv show dedicated for catching/highlighting the corruption/fraud.
But I agree, doing this for $10k is nothing but stupidity. For me personally, doing it for any amount of money is not worth it. Karma or authorities always catch up with you. I never understood the need of corruption/fraud when one can lead a decent lifestyle doing legal and simple things.

Great Andhra isn't very reputable so no one really knows if this happened recently or not. But I've heard similar fraud happening at other F500 companies so won't surprise me if true.
