Not even a passing mention of him on Rippling's web site - the guy is stuck having to pay almost 10 C monthly based on tech valuation that can lose 80-90% anytime and won't be able to keep up the payments. Maybe Dhivya wants a lumpsum instead since I believe one-time alimony is not taxed in India!
Why's the TN police only demanding 25L to get his friend released from a USD billionaire, did they do their homework?!

That’s sad part of it.. In divorce cases.. no one will be with you to understand and support if you are male.. only divorced male can understand the pain.

Sad indeed, however that’s the story with majority men in India due to failed marriage.
Was heartbroken by the man today at traffic stop ;) ( it’s fictional image , however summarizes the situation) …

Not only in men in India. It’s same story with Indian men in US especially if they have assets in India.

Even men in US go through similar problem. My ex-boss (white) was living with his wife, 1 kid and a dog in a big 4 bed SFH in South Bay. This was in the 90s. After few years went through a divorce. The wife got half of his money and he was forced to sell the house. She went and bought another house in Livermore and probably living with a new boyfriend. The guy had to move into an apartment with his GF. I think he was paying alimony and child support to his ex-wife.

Another common friend told me - John (not real name) was poor, became rich during dot com boom and then became poor after divorce.

That is one reason why males in US are afraid to commit to a marriage. Rich ones go for pre-nup.

In the US, a large chunk of money is made by lawyers. In most cases, t's probably the largest chunk since even the alimony stops once the recipient gets married again. My friend spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on lawyers and thankfully the ex, remarried in a short time.
Maybe the FIRE movement would keep more marriages intact since the one sure thing that's going to throw it off is a divorce.

Agreed for toxic relationships - I was talking about "I don't love you anymore" or "Why did you not pay this bill?" reasons.
