It's horrific what happened, and it was a major security failure.
It's all over unless Dems draft Michelle Obama! Even though this assassination attempt would not change anyone that already made up their minds, but it will change the minds those that were on the fence with the iconic image. IMO, the greatest of Trump's strengths is his presence of mind and it was on full display. Funny how Biden has changed from inept to incendiary in a matter of a few days in the eyes of some GOP politicians!
US Elections 2024 - the most consequential election again!
Re: US Elections 2024 - the most consequential election again!
Looks like the universe is conspiring to make Donald Trump president again! He missed death by a few millimeters and the gunman unwittingly changed the course of this election.
Re: US Elections 2024 - the most consequential election again!
Lost in the hoopla is a real family man(an attendee) got killed . I don’t know why US citizens attend any political rallies in-person. TVs/Youtube anyway show any rallies this being an election year, so catch it later IMO.
The injury and blood on Trump’s face was due to Teleprompter’s piece(not the bullet itself) hitting him hard but he did enough drama to invoke sympathy from all parties . While leaving the podium, he didn’t forget to raise his fist and said he will carry on the ‘fight’; only he know what 'fight'
The shooter who shot the gunshots was killed but he was a registered republican. Hope police had captured him alive and then we would have known the motive for his shooting a ‘fellow republican’. Now democrats say it was staged and Trump supporters are trumpeting that democrats tried this assassination ploy by paying a mentally unstable 20 yr old replublican!!

JD Vance is the VP pick for Trump, who wants to break up big tech and is quite popular with Independents and even some Democrats. I'm sure a lot of corporate donors are happy to get rid of him from the Senate where he's actually doing some damage to become the VP where he has zero power.
I think at this point Trump is all set to get back into the White House.

No it is not. Every report that I read indicated it is the bullet. Trump's own statement and the videos supported that narrative too. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bulle ... ump-wound/
As of today it looks like the contest is over and it would be safe for the networks to project Trump's victory. I am getting ready for 4 or more years of Trump and many more years of Trumpism unless a miracle happens.

Oh, the vagaries of life! If Raj Guru (John) Roberts and his disciples had not made Trump the King, he would have been sentenced on July 11th by a 'democrat judge' in a 'democrat court' and might have been sitting safer in a 'democrat jail' instead of barely escape being killed by a registered republican!

There is no way in hell that any democrat would support JD Vance who thinks rape and incest are "inconvenient" and he is a big conspiracy theorist and worse than Trump in many ways. MAGA dislikes him too for his 2016 "never trump" leanings, wrong pick by Trump!
On a side note, I wonder what they teach in these Ivy league law schools! The only saving grace is that he used it to good effect to find a desi bride!

Teamsters president spoke for the first time at a RNC after 121 years of its founding. If you had told me last month a Pro-Union Labor group president would headline at an RNC event, I would've thought you were delusional. On top of it the Teamsters president slammed Chamber of Commerce (a key GOP backer) and called for breaking up Amazon and curtailing Walmart. JD Vance (anti-trust, breaking up corporate power), Teamsters "non-endorsement" at RNC and giving people like Hawley key policy portfolios - Trump is going directly after the Bernie voter (not the urban professionals with the "Co-exist" stickers on their cars) but rural working class Bernie voter.SAPPORO wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 3:01 pmhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... story.htmlnodegree wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 3:29 pm JD Vance is the VP pick for Trump, who wants to break up big tech and is quite popular with Independents and even some Democrats. This is all making Reagan types in the GOP squirm and the odds of Trump passing any significant pro-worker legislation if elected is probably close to zero but you cannot deny the political shift that's happening right before our eyes.

The Teamsters union president did not endorse Trump and if anything, majority of its members would be supporting Biden since he bailed out their pension funds. JD is totally financed by right wing big tech, and he isn't going to break up any corporations. Bernie bros aren't going to fall for this trick again. "Fool me once, shame on you- fool me twice, shame on me!"!nodegree wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 12:45 pmTeamsters president spoke for the first time at a RNC after 121 years of its founding.
