Now that it's all but official - Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom who will get the nomination?

Kamala understandable, why Newsom, does he not have the reputation of bringing CA down?!
Both of them will be weaker than Biden against Trump. There would be chaos when Biden drops out since every TDH in disloyal (to the party) democrats other than possibly Menendez would think they are better candidates and wash their dirty linen in public!
If and when Kamala gets anointed, she would be hounded by Republicans for all her past word salads, migrant crisis, being dishonest with Americans for the last 4 years about Biden's 'dementia", questioning her citizenship, putting intense pressure on her to use 25th amendment to remove Biden now - maybe that's the only way she becomes the POTUS for a few months! America did not vote for the most qualified candidate in 2016 mostly because of being a woman and I doubt if they will go for Indo-African-American woman this time.

After Kamala Harris, only Newsom has the highest national profile ( he did spend significant time to build it in the last few years). Despite the CA troubles, he polls similarly to Harris. He debates better and gives better speeches than Harris (in my view). But Harris does have the advantage of being VP.

I wouldn't count the chickens yet.. She remains a much awkward campaigner. Mind you, she didn't even past the first round in the Dem primaries in 2020.

No need to get elected for the VP to become the POTUS if and when the President resigns or forced to resign. That was the first part of my hypothesis!
