Reviving the dead thread with a PSA! Trump will do everything he can to bring down the stock market similar to what he did last week. So, tread with caution until the election!
If and when he gets elected, he will once again be the biggest "insider" trader the world has ever seen repeating what he did in his first term! One day China is evil and the other day Taiwan is terrorist and such. He will manipulate the market extensively and so as long as one trades with his cues, they can mint a lot of money.

A few weeks back I bought DECK for the long term...
I am slightly shifting my investment direction with new hair (but white
). Instead of buying new individual stock now pushing extra funds towards S&P 500 and other Index funds. It's good to know Vanguard came up with DCA in ETF. Not sure how it works but now shifting towards that.
Useal stock in buy and hold positions are AAPL META AMZN NVDIA GOOG NFLX BKNG ISRG ULTA MO PM HDB and now DECK. I may drop HDB (HDFC) Never convinced with India's story and the strong USD is hurting this stock. There are better returns available in the US only.

Great last jobs report before the elections. The markets should rally if Trump wins or loses 'bigly'.
if Kamala wins by a whisker there will be chaos, confusion, riots and lawsuits that we might finally get the "Kamala Crash" since we won't know the next POTUS until the inauguration day. In the interim, one can dabble in DJT stock, Bitcoin, Tesla stock, Poly betting markets (bet on everything from Trump in Jail, when will Trump move his bashing from 'cat-eaters' to 'curry-eaters' etc..,), Trump $100K watch, Trump gold coins and so on

Huge Diwali gift today with the down stock market. No matter who wins next week, the markets are going to rally simply because the election would be over!
One can even stock up on DJT, Bitcoin, TSLA etc.., if you want to fell less disappointed with a Trump win or if you want to short the Trump win, go with buying PFE (Pfizer) since DJT is expensive to short.
Getting an anti-vaxxer/conspiracy theorist as in RFK Jr out of running the Department of health would be a huge boost for pharma companies like Pfizer!
