Inspired by OS2, I watched parts of
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasamalar on YT - songs were nostalgic and melodious but acting and direction was of modern-day Indian soaps quality- Ahead of its times!

Watched Laapataa Ladies on NetFlix.
Directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and acted by mostly newcomers.
Very heartwarming story. 2 newly married brides get exchanged by mistake in Heartland(Madhya Pradesh). Story has how these ladies make best of this situation without too much preaching or blaming men for their misfortune. Happy ending at the end and restores faith in society that it still has decent people with good intentions.
People who say Bollywood mostly churns mindless violent movies like Animal or KGF2 should watch this. I recommend it very highly.
loved it.. kiran rao proves that she is a superb director with this film.. very well made, good acting all around.. ravi kissen was phenomenal as the cop.. super camera/tight script and coherent story telling..

Watched ‘Shaitaan’ on NetFlix. Directed by ‘Queen’ and ‘Super30’ fame director Vikas Bahl.
Starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and a newcomer Janki Bodiwala.
It is touted as a horror movie but it gives you a different experience.
Do not read the review and don't watch the trailer and if you watch with zero expectations, movie would surprise you.
Madhavan and the newcomer Janki have acted very well..

It was horror for sure the first half at least. As a parent, could connect with the helplessness sometimes one could feel trying to protect kids.
Madhavan, Jyothika, Ajay Devgan all good.

Maidaan - is a good sports movie.. i had vaguely heard of chuni goswani/neville dsouza/PK banerjee et all in the context of kolkatta football clubs, Mohun Bagan and Mohameddans, but did not know the story behind the dream team of 1962.. its amazing that we had a worldclass team then and have not made much inroads in soccer since.. to be called the brazil of Asia by the then FIFA chief tells you, how talented that team must have been. warning: movie is a bit lengthy clocking in at 3 hours.. i had to finish it in 2 sittings.. but well narrated story

Not on OTT but in theaters.
Kalki 2898 AD.
Prabhas, Deepika, AB Sr, Kamala hasan.
The first(P) and last(K) have charged INR 100 cr each as renumeration by some reports!! and both didn’t do full justice to that hefty amount
Movie is watchable due to AB Sr, good VFX , some creativity in keeping viewers curious on what to expect in sequel!!
Most of the movies have better first half and falter in the second half but this movie has better second half. First half is rather inane.

Watched Hilbilly Elegy on Netflix. It is the life story of JD Vance. Gives some insight into Middle America problems and why he was picked too. But inspiring how he rose from those circumstances and respect for Usha to stand by a guy like that. It must have been tough for Indian parents to accept SIL from such a background.
