It's well-known that Republicans in general and MAGA in particular are white nationalists but what's surprising is how quickly MUSK is falling out with MAGA by calling them "contemptible" (they may not even understand what it means) and Vivek becoming the villain by ridiculing American culture. Is DOGE going to be dead even before it started and will a single Trump tweet tank TSLA stock by 50%? Interesting times to come!

I get "their" point of view about increasing non-assimilation to the point of arrogance by neo-immigrants in the US. In my neighborhood, no holiday lights at all but all you see is permanent fake flowers around the "door-devta". An Indian kid watching baseball on TV and asking us what sport is this that looks similar to Cricket - only issue was that he was not 1 but was 8-years old and been in the country for 5 years! I have been to multiple housewarming ceremonies, and they invariably create a ruckus in the early morning hours since it's "Brahma Muhurta" with cows and loud chants of "Happy housewarming" automictically assuming all the neighbors would be desis and they wouldn't mind it.

I am not asking desis to eat steak and watch NFL to assimilate, just be mindful of others in public and enjoy cricket, Indians soaps, Biryani and so on at home!

It's amazing how maga movement is never about stopping outsourcing but so vehemently opposed to insourcing. Outsourcing takes away 100 times more jobs than insourcing. It goes to show the real intention is to keep browns away. They don't care about jobs or Americans. They have a single point agenda is to keep America white.

Looks like it all started with Sriram Krishnan ( American Indian) as AI advisor, and far rigth MAGA took it for some special group for American Indian ;) ...

Trump has come out in support of Musk against the racists. He says he has employed many H1bs on his properties. I think he meant other category of Hvisa, H2 visa. He was always against H1bs since I have followed him back in 2008. He use to come on tv and bash H1b holders for taking jobs away from Americans.

This is an interesting battle for sure. But what matters is that racists are the ones who are managing immigration matters in white House and congress. Musk and Vivek are not managing immigration. What we will see is severe restrictions, extreme delays, nonsensical RFEs, much more harassing audits etc for Indians working in US. Vivek and Musk have not helped the matters by this public commentary. They should have used their political capital in the background to help with reasonable approach rather than this public infighting.

The schadenfreude of Vivek and Musk getting pooh poohed by MAGA is so good.

In the end, the one who wrote checks will get their way of course.

MAGA is like Chittii from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enthiran - The creator Trump would also be a casualty of that.

On the H1B issue, I am not sure why Trump is not MAGA enough to at least suspend the H1B program for first-time approvals since the only major sector that had a lot of layoffs in the last few years has been the tech sector. How can a company that just laid off folks including some on H1B, turn around and say they need more H1B approvals?

Trump has been here before. During Covid, he tried to take credit for the vaccine research. Then realized that his base is full of anti vaxx monkeys and promptly backed down. He will back down on H1B and take steps to kick Indians out.

In addition to those consequences, there will be attacks on Indians from the base. I have seen calls for Indians to be 'Luigi'ed on social media.

Returning_Indian wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2024 12:16 am Well o well! Indians who supported Trump and maga now realize the true colors of its racist supporters. It has come in the open on what right wing supporters think of Indians. This whole movement was started because of election of colored person in white House. It was purely based on racism. Racists could not believe that a black could become president. They joined after 2008 and started movement which changed a republican party forever. Moderate republicans became a term of abuse and all moderates started losing. It took them 8-10yrs but they gained significant influence and now racist is the way to go as these are loyal supporters.

Indians by nature would be republicans as they favor less govt and less taxes. Indians in general are socially liberal or do not care and willing to let the liberal agenda be not a priority. I guess it makes sense as they are there to make living. Hence, they naturally inclined towards republicans.

But now republicans have shown their colors, especially, maga movement which is purely for white immigration only. They do not want any colored immigration, legal or illegal. This should be a lesson for Indians in general. But then again we have democrats who are equally racists towards Indians and have clearly shown by blocking these same bills. Nowhere to go for Indians.

It's also a lesson for future immigrants from India. No matter what you do, you will never be one of them and accepted as Americans in the society. Regardless of you or your future generations doing all the heavy lifting.
I was attacked in the last forum for saying R supporters are idiots. I am afraid I am being proven right even to those who are most blind. R supporters are idiots in general, but I cant imagine greater fools than desi R supporters in the US. They are risking their life and that of their kids over what - 5% savings in taxes?
