This public debate is totally unnecessary. All these items should be discussed in background. It's total stupidity by Musk/Vivek. If you wrestle with pig in mud, you get dirty while pig is enjoying. Maga racists are enjoying this attention. Who knew Laura before this.

Bannon only wants whites to immigrate and wants to stop everything else. Nothing new from him.

Musk is just a financier who is no more than a clown now and Bannon would have more sway over Trump on immigration especially after the terrorist attack this morning in New Orleans.

Now democrats have come out against H1b as well. Calling them indentured servants. Nothing surprising as they were always pro illegal immigration. Always blocked bills for high skilled since Bush era. It seems nobody likes Indians in US.

It's such a small number 65k per year in working population of 150million. Other much smaller European countries bring more than that in name of skilled workers. This is such a bizarre debate. Has tech industry not sent their hafta?

The "Day of infamy" is next Monday. All the infighting within GOP might result in only Kamala Harris certifying Trump's win in the senate, with no speaker elected for the house! In addition, the only protests on Jan 6, maybe from MAGA against Trump for his stance on H1B.

Reality is stranger than fiction!

It is bizarre that Modi wasn't invited to the opening ceremony. Is US India relationship going from bad to worse now? Even worse is they invited Chinese President who refused to attend. Did Musk influence this?

Starlink is obviously not getting entry in India or else it will be a nightmare for Jio and Airtel. Tesla is not allowed entry either. Musk has reasons to be pissed at Modi for these items. India will also face issues in trade negotiations, tariffs will be really bad. Visas are another issue which has already rocked Trump party. I think India is heading for tough relationship with US in next 4years. If Biden was bad, Trump is going to be worse for India.

Indian economy is already showing signs of slowing down compared to last few years. Consumption is plateauing and currency is falling. Taxes are increasing at rapid pace. All this is happening even when Modi has improved banking fundamentals since Congress left it in very bad condition in 2014. Digital India has taken off in big sense and delivering real value. Infrastructure has improved dramatically. All fundamentals are in good place. Except that govt is getting caught in giving freebies now. These freebies are not sustainable and taxes need to go down.

Not only India, but Trump is also making enemies of reliable allies like Canada, Panama and EU (with the threat of taking over Greenland militarily). As they say in Tamil "Kurangu kailyil poomalai" (A garland in a monkey's hand) or casting pearls before swine!
