Well the exit polls are out and they all predict a thumping victory for NDA. Axis MyIndia poll which had been the most reliable poll in the last few decades not only predicts NDA victory but a landslide in vote share and seat count. If true, Modi will go down in history as one of the few (if any) leaders to secure a third term with even bigger mandate and vote share. I don't think even FDR in the height of WW2 managed to pull off something like that.

I'm personally skeptical of such a large victory but we'll find out in two days.

doesn't look like it.. as of this morning.. INDI Alliance seems to have made a respectable comeback.. and BJP looks like has scored less than last time and will have to have partners to form a govt... ?

Simple majority for NDA (aka BJP) is blessing in disguise. Hopefully we will see more humane and responsible 5 years from BJP/Modi. With 15 years of being prime minister, Modi will join the father/daughter longevity record. TDP gets another chance to become a kingmaker.

You live by the sword and die by the sword! Too much focus on temples and religion instead of focusing on people's real issues led to these surprise results. Even Lord Ram could not come to their rescue in Ayodhya!
It's going to be coalition govt and may not last for long - Modi will get so much heartburn and headache from both the allies of convenience and BJP walahs that previously had powerful positions that he would let the govt fail for INDIA to take over to make more mess of it in the hopes of coming back in full majority.
As for TN, it seems like a clean sweep for DMK, and its allies as expected. Annamalai might have had a better chance if PM had not shown up so often in TN alienating AM from the local masses!

NDA won but BJP lost. I don't know if Modi/Shah regime will continue going forward. There could be power struggles within the party in the coming few months.

Interesting result. This is what happens to a company stock when it does not meet the expectation. Though company may have performed well the stock price will tank. Same with BJP. They got more seats compared to combined Indi alliance. It feels BJP/NDA lost and Indi Alliance/Cong won the election.

Anyway Modi has to balance between allies and he is not used to that. BJP may replace him with Rajnath and wonder what position he will get. No cabinet position as his personlity will not be in sync. So move to Marg Darshan Mandal and let next gen take over. Heard Nadda, Modi, Shah and Rajnath are in a huddle to make this selection. Otherwise Paltu Kumar will make another somersault and land in Indi lap.

It looks like all that meditation did not help Modi let go of Moh and Maya -Modi elected as leader of NDA.
