Why Elon? Waymo's self driving is actual self driving and much better.

Not missing out on anything. I am not a fan of EV and FSD, heck - I don't even use the cruise control. The only thing I am good at is driving and won't let anyone take it away from me. I had no problem driving a Pacifica minivan from Atlanta airport to Tampa, 450 miles in 6 hours and that was after travelling 26 hours from India!

I don't particularly enjoy this laborious driving. If car has excellent power and pickup and no restrictions on speed limit only then do I enjoy driving. Its a chore to drive otherwise. Eyes start to tire up staring at the highway for hours together. You start to feel sleepy. I cannot wait for this technology to be adopted widely. I can then just sit idle and watch tv or reels or finish my work or even go to sleep.SAPPORO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 11:42 am

Driving was completely therapeutic especially after the chaos and honking in India and an instant confirmation that I am home. Touching 100 Mph fleetingly, easing off a wee bit, blaring my favorite music and singing along were quite entertaining.Returning_Indian wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:23 pmI don't particularly enjoy this laborious driving. Driving is freedom and as American as it gets and so why bother doing the same things as working during that time? In fact, the only thing I miss from my working years is that hour-plus "me-time" each way commuting to work.
Fully autonomous driving is long ways off especially on city streets. For it to be completely reliable, Musk should implant chips in the brains of the professional drivers in India to understand how they communicate with other drivers and make those split-second life and death decisions!

Re: USA Bashing
this is the exact case scenario that i'm talking about.. to be able to turn on FSD and space out is priceless.. as i get older i find it taxing to drive in bumper 2 bumper traffic. also driving on freeways for hour plus is a strain on the body and mind regardless of how luxurious the car is.. drive by wire takes the load off and does the job phenomenally well.Returning_Indian wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:23 pmI don't particularly enjoy this laborious driving.
