Hello All,

I am referring to this MASSIVE DATA BREACH https://www.cnet.com/personal-finance/s ... ta-breach/

What are you doing to protect yourself and loved once? I am seriously looking into signing up for LifeLock Ultimate Plus service. Before I do (since it is quite expensive) , I want to hear from you.

I personally don’t believe firms to provide protection. Instead I have simply put Credit Check on freeze. And of course use multi factor authentication wherever provided.

Yes.... I agree with you fully hence will look into detail if it REALLY makes sense to go with LifeLock by Norton or Aura. Thanks.

Keep the number of checking accounts and credit cards low and check the accounts every day with additional alerts for transactions exceeding a certain amount. Checking the accounts daily also sheds light on frivolous spending by other family members :)
A credit freeze/a simple credit karma account can ward off new account creations at least before the first payment is due. I don't think a credit monitoring service especially without the daily accounts monitoring by us, is going to be useful other than giving us a false sense of security.
