Anyone remember this movie?

There was an old Hindi movie (70s/80s), which I want to watch again but can't remember the movie title. The story goes something like this ...

God comes to take away a young man's life (Lead-actor). He negotiates with God saying he is not married yet so not experienced that life and asks God to come in few years. He keeps postponing giving different excuses like want to play with his child, want to see her graduate, see her getting married etc.,

God get's p!!$ed off and takes his life away on the day of the daughter's wedding day.

I saw this during the school days but can't remember the diddly movie name. Anyone recollect this movie title ?

The lead actor is one of Utpal Dutt or Shree Ram Lagoo or Sanjeev Kumar (very faint memory here).


It aligns with the movie 'Yehi Hai Zindagi' 1977 but it is not this one.

I skimmed through all the Hindi movies released in 70s and 80s on Wikipedia and no other movie matches the plot somewhat as the 'Yeh hai Zindagi"! Maybe another language?

Thank you for checking SAPPORO, I'm positive it is not 'Yeh Hai Zindagi', hence I alredy put it there.

The movie ends up with the protagonist dying on the day of his daughter's marriage. Reason, God is sick n tired of his excuses.

It is a Hindi movie came on Doordarshan!
