Just got the news that Jimmy Carter is dead at 100.

December has been brutal in losing so many prominent names within a span of 10 days. All the below were stalwarts in their field.

1.Zakir Hussain - Tabla Maestro
2.Shyam Benegal - Directed many memorable movies; my favorite is Zubeida
3.MTV Nair - I read the English translation of his novel Randamoozham and loved it
4.Man Mohan Singh - he was called lot of unsavory names but millions/ crores benefitted from his economic policies including yours truly. From a pocket money of 50 paisa in lower middle class family, my family truly benefited from his policies and now is in top 10% net worth in India. If not for him, we would have been in 1 room chawl even now IMO.
5.Jimmy Carter - He was POTUS before I was born, so I don’t know much about him.

And we still have 2 more days left for 2024 to end :(

Jimmy Carter- Arguably the worst presidency in modern history and inarguably the most impactful post-presidency ever. Heard a few of his interviews and he was very articulate and coherent even in his 90s. The timing of his death was impeccable too, lived long enough to vote for KH as was his final wish and died early enough not to witness the inauguration of Trump.
