James Bond

Post by nodegree »

Quite telling of the times we live in right now, where real life Bond villain purchases (albeit forcefully) the James Bond franchise. Will Bond stop fighting the baddies and instead defend free markets and late stage capitalism?

Personally, I'm very disappointed by the news. I loved every thing Bond - the gadgets, cars, style, exotic locations, villains, the music score and even the campy humor. The only reason it survived 60 years without losing it's character so much is due to the Broccoli family having complete creative control.

So it goes.

Personally I liked Daniel Craig’s bond much than earlier ones, Skyfall being the top pick :), now Amazon in control probably they would ruin the franchise( the way it was done for Lord Of The Rings) :(

My personal favorite is On Her Majesty's Secret Service which remains a sore point for many Bond fans. Love all Daniel Craig movies too, especially Casino Royale.

Only after the recent Bezos acquisition news I've realized how protective the producers were with the "Bond" character. I never see action figures, merchandise or any other crap for sale. No cringe spinoff stories or direct to TV sub movie prequels etc.
