DH watches only Finals but hoping sports lovers sign up seeing this
Who will win this time? Rajastan Royals are at top so far but they need to play 8 more matches.
My sister's kids are rooting for RCB but they are at last position

Re: IPL 2024
The expectation of a typical CSK fan is to have at least a virtual "Dhoni Darshan" walking out with his gada(bat) - when the expectations are so low, it's easy to surpass them without feeling any pressure! But, the dream scenario is CSK squeaking thru to playoffs, win the eliminator in Ahmedabad, win the second qualifier in Chennai and win the final also in Chennai with the 'Thala' bidding adieu! It looks very likely since the pitches are drying up and tall scores of 250+ disappear as it's already happening and 160-170 becomes the norm and it's right in CSK's wheelhouse, more so in their own house. Moreover, of all the sloggers the one batter that has stood out for his class is Rutukanth with his amazing proper cricketing ground shots that bodes well for CSK. CSK fans are ok even if none of this fantasy turns into fruition since the arch-rivals MI are scraping the bottom of the table!
As for RCB - it's quite the opposite of CSK, big name players with nothing to show for as a team for 17 years. I am surprised there are still RCB fans and maybe it's best for the fan's sake to dissolve the team

Another "Wheelhouse win" for CSK this morning. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/ind ... cket-score
All they have to do now is to win one or two more games in the league phase, keep rooting for group leaders RR and KKR and those in the bottom like MI and PBKS and somehow make it to Madras to set up a grand farewell for the Thala!

167/0 in 9.4 overs! Surely, there must be a highlights video on YouTube showing just the dot balls!

5 consecutive wins for RCB. Pretty impressive. Had written them off.
Will be interesting to see who qualifies for the 4th spot.

Tons of memes by CSK fans on RCB in the past - it's going to be memes over matter next Saturday. Who knew it would come down to this!sunnysideup wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 4:48 pm 5 consecutive wins for RCB. Pretty impressive. Had written them off.

Good to see RCB back in action, was my favorite team during Chris Gayle era …sunnysideup wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 4:48 pm 5 consecutive wins for RCB. Pretty impressive. Had written them off.

Re: IPL 2024
I remember that - Gayle, Kohli, ABD and extremely top-heavy resulting in them being the most underperforming side in spite of big names in the league. They did get to the finals in 2011 on the backs of Gayle's exploits that season and faced CSK in the final and MS nipped him out for a nought in the first over itself by bowling Ashwin at him! I remember it like it was yesterday.

Re: IPL 2024
Great effort by RCB to be back in the reckoning. They may end up finding themselves one win short. If SRH doesn’t lose both their remaining games, and if LSG doesn’t win both of theirs, RCB can fancy their chances against CSK on 18th for a play-off berth. They will, however, be without Will Jacks who has played a handy role in their resurgence. Maxwell will likely replace him. Playing Maxwell is like buying a lottery ticket.sunnysideup wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 4:48 pm 5 consecutive wins for RCB. Pretty impressive. Had written them off.

Re: IPL 2024
Forgot to add Maxwell on the big-names list! RCB does not have a chance if BOTH LSG and SRH get to 16 and they have a chance if even one of them ends up at 14. If both LSG and SRH stay at 14 then RCB and CSK can work out a 'deal' with RCB in return of Cauvery water so both can go to the playoffsteera wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 9:18 amGreat effort by RCB to be back in the reckoning. SRH in spite of their slam-bang approach don't have a super NRR, since they won by 20-30 runs after making 260+ a few times whereas both CSK and RCB won by 40 runs after scoring 170-180.
