Even if the erstwhile R2IClubforums site gets revived, I hope they switch to phpBB instead of vBulletin. I like using phpBB a lot more than vBulletin

It was one place to get information related to India, Indian life/food/travel/investment etc. I benefitted from the r2iclubforum in learning about finance, investments, politics and many other stuff. May be we should have jointly invested and taken over the website from RRK. The new owner does not seem to be interested or know how to revive the forum. Too late now!
OS2 sir, why is it too late? Can you please elaborate, in a more technical way if possible? Have they tried to retrieve any data from whatever is left after the crash? Having known that technical volunteers are available, did they pursue any such offers for help?

jinsakai is part of the group trying to restore the forum. I will let him explain.

Non-technical - the response from the admin of that forum is poor. We have to keep asking him for update and don't get proper reply. Either he doesn't know how to fix the problem or too busy to work on it.

As per the new owner they do have DB backup. I suggested to use it to migrate another platform like this one which is using phpBB, however we didn’t get much traction.

As pointed out by Rbee elsewhere, we don't need the other forum if we can get heavy hitters like Boca, Layman, Peace_enjoy, RRS, Koipond et al and last but not the least FIREINDIA in this forum. It's always the people and never the place!
