Musk may get out of DOGE, but will he get out of Trump's orbit is the question. As long as he keeps inserting himself in the right wing politics I think EV car loving liberals around the world are going to hate him. Another leftist slowly drifting towards MAGA world is Bill Maher. I watch his real time show on You Tube every weekend and I always felt he was a sane voice among the progressives. But off late he seems to be fed up with far left politics and has softened his views on Trump and right in general. I read that he even had dinner with Trump along with Kid Rock recently at the white house. He may do his next show wearing a MAGA hat!
I think Maher is an opportunist. He was a libertarian in the 90s, a classic liberal in the early to mid 2000s, an Obama progressive in the 2010s and now Trump centrist?

What are the odds that Congress will effectively strip him off tariff powers? Already some rumblings in his own party with in the Senate.

Tariffs are useless idea by the brain dead President. US imports bulk of consumer items from Asia (China, SE Asia, Japan). The country does not have factories or manufacturing skills to make solar panels, EV batteries, toys, shoes, dress and many other stuff. All the factories making them have been shipped to China 20+ years back. Professionals in those fields have either retired or moved to other jobs. US cannot make the consumer items at the cost you get in Walmart and Costco. For all these years American middle class has been enjoying the power of cheap labor. Tariffs will make them out of sync as the cost will be passed on to consumers. I am expecting a recession or even a depression ahead.

T is on a mission to Make America Poor Again!

Why're you blaming T? Didn't I advise you to move all the money to India at least a month back? :)
Indian market and economy are positioned better than most, to weather this tariff craziness since they're self-sustained -thanks to all those relentless procreators!

The non-cooperating GOP senators will be called in to MLago for a special treatment - All they need is a simple round of golf and McD meals with the chosen one and they would fall in line! Vance did https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/04/politics ... index.html
