A thread to discuss the US Housing Market. Now that Trump will be back in WH where is the Housing market heading?
Are we going back to the lower interest rates and asset prices skyrocketing? Or will mass deportations and tariffs cause home values to skyrocket ?

Re: US Housing Market
We need to go thru the pain of a deep recession to get pandemic-era low interest rates. Interest rates are expected to go up regardless of a few more Fed cuts due to the inflation caused by tariffs, tax cuts and other deficit spending. The tariffs and the threats of mass deportation would further curtail the supply since the builders would hold back pushing the prices higher in most places. High income folks would benefit with increased equity and tax cuts, and middle-class & first-time home buyers would suffer. Corporate landlords would buy up millions of properties keeping the rents high.
House prices might go down in the DMV area where a lot of federal govt shakeups are expected. Florida RE market would tank due to construction industry coming to a halt resulting in job losses in all related industries and the insurance premiums going thru the roof.
