never give up.. there is always a different scenery around the corner ( you being a Porsche man should know this), and always believe u will turn that corner.. meanwhile distract yourself, with the blue and white ones while you await the red one..

Just another rainy afternoon
It was another rainy afternoon in the city. The "Café Coffee Day" shop in the heart of the city was bustling with life. The chatter of the crowd, the occasional laughter from a college students group. It all seemed like noise to him, like an unfinished soundtrack playing in the background. He was just waiting eagerly for someone, After all it was almost year they had met. And now all of sudden she had asked to meet. Every additional moment felt like eternity. "Einstein must have came up with Time Dilation in a coffee shop", he thought and smiled at his own joke.
Finally he could see Rekha parking the Red Sunny under the tree nearby. She removed helmet, pulled her wet hair back, and waived at him. She walked toward him slowly, pulling out the chair across from him.
"Hi, long time no see" he said gently.
Rekha looked up, her lips curving into a small, almost wistful smile. "Hi ! Did you order something? For me any coffee would do"
He nodded absently, his throat tight. He could see the faint traces of mascara under her eyes. Looks like she had been crying, "May be something is wrong", he thought.
The waiter brought their drinks, and he absentmindedly took a sip of his coffee, anyhow the coffee tasted bitter than usual.
"How’s work?" Rekha asked, a tentative attempt to break the silence.
He put his cup down, his fingers tracing the rim as he searched for the right words. "It’s fine. Same as always."
He looked up at her, his heart pounding in his chest. "Rekha, I… I’ve been thinking a lot. And why this sudden meeting request?"
She set her cup down too, her eyes meeting his, the quiet understanding between them making everything harder.
"Papa has been worried about me since last few months," she said painstakingly. "Probably Didi may have spilled few words"
He nodded, swallowing hard. "Ohh ! "
Rekha looked down, her hands clenched around her cup as if it were the only thing anchoring her.
"I never thought I would end be in this situation," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I was able delay it, however not anymore"
"There are three prospective grooms shortlisted by Papa", she whispered while staring at empty cup.
"A professor from well settled family, a son of real estate developer from Thane and the last one is an engineer in Pune", she continued in hushed tone.
He was silently nodding sometimes.
"Papa is more inclined towards the builder son. This is proposal by my Commissioner Uncle from Bombay ", she continued.
"What do you think about all these ? Who can be better partner for me ? ", she asked, still not looking at him.
"Even to me, the builder son looks better match", he told her without any emotion, trying to gauge her response.
"Do you know anyone better who can be my partner?", this time she looked deep in his eyes.
He could see few tear drops in her eyes, eager to roll on her cheeks. He did not utter a word, simply nodded "No".
"I know you are getting engaged next month. You got Engineer wife, and NRI brother-in-law. I hope she would keep you happy", She burst into full tears this time.
"Gyan ! You are the one who proposed me when I was just fourteen, you are the one who touched me first time. I never imagined anyone else apart from you as my soul mate. I would have convinced my Papa even though my Didi, mom are reluctant about you. I still have those greeting cards and teddy bear kitchen even after a decade. Now it all feels like a nightmare" , she almost bumped into a waiter while exiting the shop.
He helplessly watched her exit, and there were so unanswered questions still. Then she disappeared on the crowded street.

Re: The tryst With Life
Well written and what a bummer in the end. Just one change Rekha in Mysore cafe, Neha in cafe coffee day, Ananya in Starbucks. These are the names in different generations. They didn't meet for a year and now Rekha wants to get married with him and he is playing games again? This is so 70s, definitely Mysore cafe in some classic place.

Re: The tryst With Life
Very well written and heartfelt and sorry it happened to this 'unknown' couple - you could get a female pseudonym and write chick-flicks! Incidentally, I was watching https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meri_Pyaari_Bindu a couple of nights ago interested by this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyMUY2CDrjc
The stories are somewhat similar, and the protagonist becomes a writer! How about Bindu as the aforementioned pseudonym?!
My advice is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOvkJZ6tnjc
