Re: Purpose of life

Great topic and thanks for starting. I agree with most of the things mentioned. My objective (and I pray to achieve this) is.. * Re-live my childhood: Fly kites, burst fireworks, engage in small engineering works like make a table/fix a ch air, I love unix (I used to hate it) do some scripting, enga...

Re: Sayonara 2024 and Goals for 2025 …

Happy New Year Jinsa. As far as 2024 goes, loss of club has affected my daily posting; I feel down that this hangout has not still been able to attract funny bones/stalwarts like Dixit,RRS, Desi sir and many more whose posts I miss reading. My goal for 2025 is to stay away from all whatsapp convers...

Fair point!
Kannada scripture and Telugu align. Tamil is comparatively easy to learn, thank god.
I guess most (may be all) Indian languages are Sanskrit-derivatives.

Re: Sayonara 2024 and Goals for 2025 …

2024 was harsh on me. I lost my old man in the middle of the year had an impact for the rest of the year. Lost my most favorite American neighbor (never shed tears even for some close but did for a Gora, that close he was to me). 2025: I'm aiming to R2I and celebrate Diwali there after 25 years bein...

Re: Sayonara 2024 and Goals for 2025 …

The major personal achievement for 2024 was moving from a residence of 20 years to "God's waiting room". It was stressful, chaotic, and challenging but ultimately pulled it off. Every indiscriminate and casual purchase that we made in the past was staring at us on their judgement day with...

Re: Anyone remember this movie?

Thank you for checking SAPPORO, I'm positive it is not 'Yeh Hai Zindagi', hence I alredy put it there.

The movie ends up with the protagonist dying on the day of his daughter's marriage. Reason, God is sick n tired of his excuses.

It is a Hindi movie came on Doordarshan!

Anyone remember this movie?

There was an old Hindi movie (70s/80s), which I want to watch again but can't remember the movie title. The story goes something like this ... God comes to take away a young man's life (Lead-actor). He negotiates with God saying he is not married yet so not experienced that life and asks God to come...

Love your gadgets there. Thanks for the picture.

I could do with few of those colors too, it would be cool if they go away before the nagging-phase starts :-). Some automated system would be nice the moment nagging starts colors get replaced.

Re: How much is enough for you to coast and not worry about job

I have been reading a topic like this from the previous R2I forum since 2007 :-). I tried to apply the same logic, aka 'how much is enough', it never worked. So, since I want some definitive answers, this is what I'm doing (planning to r2i next year, God willing). I have asked my family what is thei...

Re: Trusted School Friend In Real Estate Management Looking for Business

Thank you Jinsakai.

I guess I'm already advertizing through this thread. If I should be 'advertizing' differently, it would be a great favor if you could point me.

At times like this, I miss our original portal we had so many NRI folks and it was so easy to spread the word.

Thank you once again!
